‘A short film exploring the changes in fan culture in the digital age – the shift in power – and the growing importance of fans.
Featuring expert opinion and insight from academics, marketeers and the fans themselves, this documentary looks at how a brand can identify their fans and, more importantly, harness their passion.’

TT – Closer to the Edge – Documentary
Posted: 05/03/2012 Filed under: Documentary, Film, Sport | Tags: Closer to the edge, Guy Martin, Motorcycle, TT Leave a comment »As documentaries go, this is one of the best I’ve ever seen. It follows riders at the 2010 TT motorcycle race in the Isle of Man, but, you don’t have to be into motorcycle racing to enjoy it.
The main character is the loveable, eccentric, enigmatic Guy Martin who captivates the audience with such lines as – “Some lads going the pub, some lads like shagging, I don’t mind it, but I’m not into it, different things make different people happy…”
This film will bring a smile to anyones face!
‘By vividly recounting the TT’s legendary rivalries and the Isle of Man’s unique road racing history, this 3D feature documentary will discover why modern TT riders still risk their lives to win the world’s most dangerous race. The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy is the greatest motorcycle road race in the world, the ultimate challenge for rider and machine. It has always called for a commitment far beyond any other racing event, and many have made the ultimate sacrifice in their quest for victory. A story about freedom of choice, the strength of human spirit and the will to win. It’s also an examination of what motivates those rare few, this elite band of brothers who risk everything to win. The vision of top commercials director Richard de Aragues.’
Run Dem Crew
Posted: 04/26/2012 Filed under: Sport | Tags: Charlie Dark, Nike 1948, Run Dem Crew, Running Leave a comment »Run Dem Crew is a running club with a difference, firstly they don’t classify themselves as a running club, they call themselves “a family and a community who run hard, run fast and run strong”.
‘Formed in the winter of 2007 by DJ, poet and writer Charlie Dark, as an alternative to traditional stuffy running clubs, Run Dem Crew is committed to change and the upliftment of the next generation. RDC works closely with young people across London providing mentoring and advice along with the opportunity to explore London in a safe, unique, positive and supportive environment. As well as exploring the streets of London the Run Dem Crew also celebrates the diverse urban environment that surrounds the Nike 1948 space with post run workshops, films and talks.
Be you a marathon veteran or taking your first steps towards your first race, the Run Dem Crew caters for runners of all abilities with runs split into five groups according to fitness and pace.’
I used to run with Run Dem Crew a few years back when I was training for the Brighton Marathon, it’s a great way to feel apart of something and be encouraged to push yourself and to run that little bit faster / harder, when I was there the top group was the Cheetah’s, they have now added another group, the Elite’s, I think it’s time for my return, especially as I’m doing the Brighton Marathon in 2013 and I’m aiming for sub 3.30 hrs!
Topman General Store
Posted: 04/25/2012 Filed under: Brand, Fashion, Shop | Tags: Topman, Topman General Store Leave a comment »The best things about Topman’s General Store is that you’d never know it was Topman!
Topman have just opended their second instalment in Covent Garden, their first was in Shoreditch opposite Spiterfield market.
The General Store features a tight edit of the best Topman clothes, displaying them in a quirky ‘indpendent’ shop style and with minimal branding. They also stock a collection of photography books, vintage furniture and a few bits and pieces from other carefully chosen brands such as Levi’s Vintage, John Smedley, Pendleton, Percival and Burlington.
The best bit is that the clothes as so well displayed and the surrounding so familiar, that the clothes seems to be expensive, but on closer investigation they are Topman prices, so you feel like you’re getting a bargain!
The concept has been curated by Topman’s Gordon Richardson and B Store’s Matthew Murphy, and as stock rotation is constant the shop always has something new to offer, so get down and grab yourself a bargain!

Share a Coke – Campaign
Posted: 04/22/2012 Filed under: Ad, Brand | Tags: Australia, Coke Leave a comment »A nice little personalised campaign from Coke in Australia.
‘Despite healthy brand tracking data, 50% of teens and young adults hadn’t even enjoyed a ‘Coca-Cola’ in the previous month alone. They had to increase product consumption amongst the masses while targeting 24 year-olds, and get people talking about ‘Coke’ again.
So after 125 years of putting the same name on every bottle of ‘Coke’, they tried something new. They printed the 150 most popular Australian names on ‘Coke’ bottles, invited Australians to ‘Share a Coke’ with one another, and once more became part of people coming together with the best conversation starter of all – a first name.’

Record Store Day came into being in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture. The UK followed suit and 2012 will see the fifth celebration of the UK’s unique independent sector. This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, meet & greets with artists, DJ’s, in store quizzes and many other events.
Here’s a list of my top five record shops in London.
Phonica – Poland Street, Soho
Honest Jons Portobella Road, Ladbroke Groove,
Soul and Dance music exchange Nottinghill
Rough Trade East – Brick Lane
Sounds of the Universe – Broadwick Street, Soho
My all time favourite record shop is Piccadilly Records in Manchester.
